MICROBLADING

What is Microblading?

Microblading is a cosmetic tattooing procedure that fills in thin eyebrow areas to make them look fuller. Microblading uses a manual method for your eyebrows which creates extremely fine natural looking hair strokes. The process is very precise thanks to the tools used which

very finely implant featherweight strokes with a medical grade pigment on the epidermis layer of the skin, creating fine, realistic and natural hair strokes. The results? Perfectly natural looking, thick, full brows.

How long does Microblading last?

The longevity of the pigment will depend on your skin type, and post care. People with more oily skin will tend to need a touch up earlier than those with normal to dry skin. Overall the pigment tends to fade slowly over 18-36 months.

Is Microblading painful?

The service can be a little uncomfortable for those who are more sensitive. However, there is an anesthetic applied during to keep this to a minimum to where it is completely tolerable.

How does it work?

The pigment is applied with a specific tool that has a row of several fine needles to create thin hair like marks in the skin. Your artist will choose needles and the blade type according to the technique and the skin type. The pigment is bladed just below the epidermis and the most shallow part of the dermis, making extremely fine natural looking hair strokes. A very natural result is achieved, as the hairs are bladed into the skin according to the natural hair growth direction.

How long does the service last?

The appointment takes about 90 minutes to two hours.

How is microblading eyebrows different to having your brows tattooed?

Microblading, unlike tattooing, is not in the deep layer of skin, but more on the surface. The hair strokes are far more natural and finer than any tattoo, as a handheld needle/blade is used – there is no electrical gadget that permeates deep into the skin. Microblading is also not permanent.

What is the healing process like?

You’ll need to follow the given after care instructions and avoid any picking or scratching. Your eyebrows will start to heal over, much like a tattoo, which might cause irritation but is totally normal. In the next ten days or so your eyebrows will change colour, might become flaky and look like they’ve faded but this is totally normal.

Why is there a top up microblading session and when does this happen?

After your first microblading session your brows will lighten about 30-50%. This is completely normal as your body is trying to heal the tiny strokes implanted into your skin. During your microblading touch up more strokes will be added as well as going over any existing strokes to give you a fuller look and perfect the shape, color, etc. We also want to see your healed results to make sure it is exactly the look you want and to give additional feedback to give you the best-healed results as possible!

How do you know what eyebrow shape to go for? Should we bring pictures?

Clients are welcome to bring in images of the style of brow they like, or come in with the brow make up they normally wear on a day to day basis as an idea of the preferred shape and style.
